Superwaza was formed in Paris in 2004 by 3 African musicians based in Europe. The idea was to create a music that will cut across the ethnic, tribal and nationalistic boundaries. Something most people will recognise, dance and relate to without pausing to question its specific or particular country of origin.

So Superwaza was created as a musical experience to reach out to all the people that love African music. It took quite a while from the conception, creation, compositions to production because the artists are based in Germany, Spain and London.
Some of the best session musicians in the Parisian scene were recruited to perform on the songs, musicians such as Brice Wassy(Drums), Jacques Ndjehin(Guitar), Kiala Njavotunga(Guitar), Mariam Betty(Vocals), Sophie Parrot(Vocals), Cool Bass(Bass) and guest appearances by the rapper Bab and the singer Kamga.

The music is a savvy blend of different rhythms and melodies from different parts of the African continent. One is likely to feel a strong makossa influence in some tracks, Highlife in others, South African vocal melodies in some other  tracks and Congolese soukous guitars in other tracks. It is a fusion of various African musical styles with some modern pop and soul elements. This is music that is made for the dance floor and live performance.
The group is made up multi-instrumentalist Inemo Samiama who is the producer,Sonny D Nwungang who played most of the guitars and is in charge of the video productions, and Ronald Xumo who is another multi-instrumentalist. All members are singers and have a long track record of performing live either as solo artists or in various formations. 
Having taken their time to research, create, compose and produce this music which they strongly believe in, Superwaza is now ready to hit the live scene to take their music to the people. Their live act is a complete show with musicians, singers and dancers.
Tracks and videos from their debut album ”Funky Makossa” is already hitting the air waves and getting some very positive reactions.
